Sesame Seeds are native to India, and are probably the world's oldest condiment. However, the uses of sesame seeds go far beyond that of a condiment. Sesame seeds are used in many traditonal Middle Eastern sweets, and are often found in Asian and African dishes as well. They were also used to make lamp oil. Sesame seeds are a good source of fiber, protein, thiamin, iron, phosphorus, and zinc.
